Bio

With more than 30 years of litigation experience ranging from Judge, prosecutor, and trial counsel for a Fortune 100 insurance company, M. Andrew Brison’s skills and abilities are primarily focused on representing clients who have been sued in Federal and State courts throughout West Virginia.

M. Andrew Brison provides litigation and appellate representation to a broad range of clients, including state agencies, municipalities, and political subdivisions who have been sued for violations of civil rights, which include excessive force, false imprisonment, false arrest, deliberate indifference, conditions of confinement, failure to act, cross-gender supervision, and other Federal and State constitutional and statutory claims. 

Having served as in-house trial counsel for a Fortune 100 insurance company, M. Andrew Brison also continues to be retained by insurance companies to defend companies, individuals and businesses who have been sued for numerous reasons such as: motor vehicle accidents, commercial trucking accidents, property disputes, negligent construction claims, deliberate intent claims, wrongful discharge claims and wrongful death claims. 

M. Andrew Brison also provides pre-suit investigation services to employers, evaluating employee claim policies to help avoid or, at a minimum, mitigate costly litigation and litigating employee claims. He also offers local counsel services, providing out-of-state attorneys the benefit of his experience and familiarity with WV courts in a wide variety of claims and practice areas.

A 20+-year stage four cancer survivor, M. Andrew Brison has faced adversity and challenges, which has served to strengthen his resolve to overcome obstacles, to rise from the ashes, be better than he was. He wants to utilize that resolve to help people who are struggling daily with their own burdens and misfortunes created through no fault of their own.
